A beautiful poem, written by Selva. He’s indubitably an amazing man. I am truly blessed and thankful he’s in my life.
“To all my family, To loves lost and yet to be, To all mine friends, for you are my chosen family, Know that I will always love and remember thee. To all who have shared time with me, And have glimpsed per chance my soul, My outward expressions of which I truly am. For if I have shared time with you, You have seen me and I you. I am a man now and have been, A savage to the civilized, Hair long and beard thick, Scars deep and calloused, Armor layered and worn, For truly I am battle tested, But judge not me by mine look less it pleases you. Judge me by mine eyes, For truth they cannot conceal. For sometime I shaded them, To not expose my dissatisfaction, My sadness, My anger and grief, But behold them now, As they are, Opened to the world, And seeing all. Enter my soul through mine temple windows, Come share my vision, Blurred at times but seeing nonetheless. My sight can help the blind see, It exposes the joys and ills of this world, Sifting through experiences, Yours and mine, Glimpsing the path to salvation. For I have found myself, A man, A shepherd, Not of sheep, But of those seeking, For I too am a seeker. A finder of light, Passing through the darkest places of earth and mine soul. No stranger to the jungle, To beast or beauty, To the concrete towers or Rocky Mountains and waterfalls. For I have seen and experienced much, Though not all, Still I am not alone in my sight, For yours is mine and mine the like. My mission has been fought long, At times seeming endless, Consumed in this Sea of Chaos, Even now lost on my path, Still I fight, I yearn and dream, And with mine shadow of a dream, Motivated, I push on towards thy Island of Stability. For your sake and mine, I must succeed, For my destiny is that of the world, And if I fail, With it dies thy dream of the world. And so, To all my loves, My audience and readers, Look upon mine faults with kindness, For I am not perfect, But rather a man, Deliberate in my actions, And deserving of mine consequences. For my path be guided by mine spirits, Good and evil, Some indifferent, Others no better than I, But always guiding me towards a better day. Know that I truly desire a better world, Know that my life be dedicated to yours, And mine vision shared for truth. Until my death I am for us, For one, For all. For all is one and one is all.”
